Beth Chapman Feels Sad Because Daughter Disregards Her On Mother's Day And Yanks Her Off Granddaughter's Graduation

The 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' star expressed her deep grief about being ignored on Mother's Day, noting that mothers are underappreciated for all the work that they do.
Mothers across the world celebrated Mother's Day with their children two weeks ago on Sunday, May 12. However, it appears that the day brought much grief to Dog the Bounty Hunter star and dedicated mother Beth Chapman, who was excluded from her daughter Lyssa Chapman's celebrations. Taking to social media platform Twitter, Beth revealed that Lyssa had not wished her a Happy Mother's Day and even refused to invite her to her granddaughter's graduation. The mother-daughter duo then continued to have a very public argument on Twitter, exchanging accusatory statements as tensions grew between them. Meanwhile, fans of Beth and the Chapman family expressed their support.

Beth initially posted: I’m very disappointed today, knowing that not only did my daughter Lyssa Chapman not acknowledge me on Mother’s Day, yet texted some of my friends wishing them a Happy Mother's Day. She [also decided] to exclude her dad and [me] from Abbie's graduation on Friday. I would have moved a mountain to be there. While she was upset about her own situation, she also used the moment to stand up for underappreciated mothers in general.

She stated: I’m very surprised by the many friends here who were not held in the highest of honor on Mother's Day. People, what are we teaching our kids? Where are the fathers to explain the importance of a mother? You only get one and sometimes, a bonus mom. It’s the most hurtful act to not acknowledge the woman who gave you life or the one who saved it. It’s a thankless job sometimes and one that requires patience and forgiveness. I've been blessed with my kids and my bonus kids. I love them all equally.

It appears that she took to Twitter because Lyssa had blocked her everywhere else. Some were empathetic with her frustration, such as BricrLinda who responded: Beth, I am so heartbroken for you! From what I have seen over the years of watching your show, you would do anything for your children. Life is too short. I pray [Lyssa] will come around. Happy belated Mother's Day, Beth. GinaDiMauro9 added: Beth, you can ‘t let this get the best of you. I can’t imagine how Dog is feeling in this. You guys have to concentrate on your situation and don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s her loss, not yours.

The most important response, however, was from her daughter Lyssa. She replied: I have been so busy being a mom; celebrating, supporting, and loving my daughter on the eve of her graduation, I haven’t had time to respond to you, Beth. You know you’re not blocked. I spoke to dad yesterday. I have your Mother’s Day text and other unanswered messages to you. I will tell you what I have told you before and that is - life is short and you should focus on the good things. I’m not going to battle with you ever again. If your intent was to hurt me or Abbie with lies, don’t worry. You didn’t. I am so excited, happy, and proud there is nothing you can do to dull my or Abbie’s shine. As we both know, you never intended to be home in Hawaii this week and I’m sorry you feel some type of way. You want to talk, you got my number.

Beth replied: Maddie texted, grandma you did nothing, as usual. We didn’t know when Abbie’s grad was, yes, we would have been there! You're not off the hook, Lyssa, you invite your parents, regardless. I bet Leigh’s parents were invited. We could have been home in time, you chose not to even tell us. And in a separate tweet, adding a screenshot of a text message conversation: Really, 'cause here’s her text... No Happy Mother's Day, nothing, so I dunno what you think you know but here it [is], honey. As of now, it appears unclear whether the two have made up.
