UK Activists Poke Fun At Donald Trump Projecting Obama Approval Ratings On Tower of London

Anti-Trump demonstrators have shown absolutely no subtlety in their protest of the US President as he continues his first ever state visit in the UK.
As promised, anti-Donald Trump protestors in the United Kingdom are going all out during the United States President's first-ever state visit to the nation. In addition to a warm welcome in the form of a giant penis mowed into a lawn, it appears that anti-Brexit group Led by Donkeys has projected images of former President Barack Obama's and Trump's UK approval ratings onto the Tower of London as well as an image of the USS John McCain onto Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum as a reference to a recent scandal the President was involved in, reports The Independent. Trump is yet to respond to the simple but ingenious methods of protest.

As per the anti-Brexit group's projections on the Tower of London, Obama had an approval rating of 72 percent within the country whereas Trump, in comparison, has an approval rating of a mere 21 percent. The UK approval ratings were collected from research platform YouGov. This is not shocking as citizens of the United Kingdom have been rather vocal about their criticism of the 45th President of the United States. Ever since the former businessman assumed office, both citizens and politicians of the nation alike have explicitly opposed Trump and his administration.

To further add insult to injury, Led by Donkeys projected an image of a USS John McCain cap onto Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum, referencing a recent scandal wherein the White House allegedly requested United States Navy Vice Admiral Phillip Sawyer to obscure the USS John McCain (a destroyer docked at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Yokosuka, Japan) during President Donald Trump’s recent visit to Japan, perhaps due to the ongoing battle between him and the McCain family. The projection, therefore, is a reminder of President Trump's pettiness and unfair animosity towards the late Republican Senator.

The group also took to social media platform Twitter to bring more awareness to their projections. In one post, they stated: Hi Donald Trump. Just so you know, you’re wildly unpopular here in Britain. SAD! People REALLY don’t like you (though they love Barack Obama). Hope you like seeing your FAILING approval numbers projected onto the Tower of London. In another, they wrote: Hey Donald Trump, we read the story about the sailors on a United States warship being ordered to hide from you because you’re triggered by the name on their hats. So we turned Madame Tussaud's into a giant USS John McCain baseball cap. Welcome to London!

While the projections were scathing in their message, Led by Donkeys did not stop there. They also took to the streets of London to post billboards of tweets that featured politicians' opinions of President Trump. In one billboard, the group displayed a tweet by Marco Rubio, a Senator from Trump's own party. It read: Donald Trump has been perhaps the most vulgar - no I don't think perhaps - the most vulgar person to ever aspire to the Presidency. The activist group brought attention to the billboard through a tweet, writing: Hey Donald Trump, we've put up billboards across London to let you know what people in your own party REALLY think of you. People like Marco Rubio.

In a following tweet, they posted an image of another billboard, stating: If Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage thinks this represents moral courage, he should publish that elusive manifesto so we can all see what he and his party really stand for. #TrumpUKvisit (Billboard location: Woolwich Rd, London). Member of Parliament Nigel Farage, similar to President Trump, is known for his conservative views that are divisive in nature.

Of course, individuals in the Twitterverse had to respond to the demonstrations. Mrsbuju posted: After a fairly crappy Monday at work, this is absolutely a delight to come home and read. It is perfection. This makes me love all things British even more. Thank you. Aliveinphilly stated: Well played, London! Sincerely, most of us sane people in the United States. Veronica_iLse added: Londoners are savage and I love it. President Trump still has a few days remaining on his itinerary, during which it would not be incorrect to expect more political hijinks on behalf of anti-Trump protestors in the United Kingdom.
