Twitter was awash with “flight attendant” and “air hostess” jokes as videos and photos of Melania Trump, 49, stepping off the plane with her husband, did rounds on the social media platform. Melania was wearing a £650 (820 USD approx) pussy-bow blouse by Burberry, with a necktie which looked very identical to the traditional airline scarf. She wore it along with sky-high stiletto shoes and a skirt suit, which again was similar to the traditional cabin crew uniform.

One Twitter user wrote: Melania looks like a trolley dolly. Another writing: Did Trump make Melania work as an air hostess to pay for her flight over here.

Melania, a former stylish model appears to have hit the wrong note as she landed in the UK. Donald Trump and Melania landed at the London Stansted airport and are set to be welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at the Buckingham Palace in London. Prince Harry is also expected to join Trump and Melania for a private lunch hosted by the Queen.

While Twitter users have trolled Melania, it does appear that her outfit was intentional and an ode to the British and the UK's ties with the United States. Melania chose to wear Burberry, a British Designer and with colors, blue, red and white, a clever homage to the flags of the United Kingdom and the United States.

The problem was that users were connecting the color palette to that of the British Airways that also uses those very primary colors. Melania’s choice of color and design while boarding the Air Force Base in Maryland was also deliberate and paid homage to the United Kingdom reported Yahoo. She wore a Gucci dress printed with London landmarks. Her cream colored shirt dress by Gucci cost £2,650 (3,348 USD). The dress features Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and iconic double-decker London buses.

The people of the United Kingdom are preparing to protest Trump's visit with a big baby blimp just like the last time and have received permission from London Mayor Sadiq Khan for the same, according to The Times. Trump also got off on the wrong foot having criticized Meghan Markle, calling her “nasty”, according to Vanity Fair. Meghan Markle was highly critical of Trump in the run-up to the 2016 US elections. The Suits star had labeled him misogynistic and divisive and even claimed she would “move to Canada” if Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the elections.

Trump though landed at the airport hitting out at London Mayor Sadiq Khan after the latter compared him to 20th-century fascists. The Mayor’s spokesman responded saying “childish insults” should be “beneath the president of the United States”.
