When you are out for the day in the city, you never really know what you are going to run into. We often see street performers, and some of them do a fantastic job of singing or playing music. It seems as if you will run into them on many street corners in the city and we may even stop to allow ourselves to be entertained by them. For the most part, however, we just pass on and they become little more than background noise.

In London, a man named Henry Facey was performing on the street and his day was about to get a lot brighter. Most people would consider him to be a busker, which is the British way of saying that he was a street performer. At the time, he was performing Handbags and Glad Rags’, which is a Rod Stewart song. A small crowd had gathered to listen to him performing but something surprising was about to happen.
It seems as if Rod Stewart was passing by.

They said, “He just happened to be strolling through Piccadilly Circus when he passed Henry.” Newsner went on to note that, “He couldn’t pass up the chance to perform the duet, and asked the musician if he could borrow his microphone.”

Stewart wasted no time. He jumped in and start singing. Although the performance is short, it is powerful and their voices do quite well together. According to the Scottish Sun: “[He] used to busk with a harmonica before joining bands and then releasing his rst solo album in 1969.” Stewart is known around the world for his singing abilities and he has sold more than 100 million records. It’s almost as if you are watching him return to his roots for this impromptu performance. The busker is smiling from ear to ear as the little concert ends and he gives his thanks to Stewart as he leaves.
