The stressed widow didn’t even know the FedEx delivery driver kept on returning to shovel her porch. He’d park out front and hop out, thoroughly shovel her porch and be on his way without letting her know. Her doorbell camera caught it all.
These cameras are usually installed with the expectation that they’ll capture burglars, trespassers, kidnappers, and psychopaths. No one ever imagines they’ll capture such random acts of incredible kindness.

“Together we can change the world, just one random act of kindness at a time.”

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted

In a mail to Viralhog, the Nebraska-based mom of three said she was only trying to inflate her tires and was having trouble getting the caps off. The FedEx driver, Brian, who is a regular caller in their small town hadn’t even been at her house that day. She saw him close by and requested his help with the tires, which he readily offered.

“My husband passed away after a 7 month battle with cancer at the age of 42,” She explained. “A few months after he passed, I was trying to put air in my tires, but couldn’t get the cap off. I noticed a FedEx truck nearby and asked him for help. He was more than willing to help me. When he found out my situation, and that we have 3 young children, he offered to help me any way he could.”

Surprisingly, he started coming around to her porch to help her shovel off the snow.

“We live in a small town and he delivers for FedEx here all the time,” she said. “He has scooped my sidewalks several times without me asking him, but this time my Ring video doorbell caught him doing it. When I watched the video, it warmed my heart and I just had to share it! His name is Brian.”

Take out time to put a smile on someone else’s face

Her porch is not a small one. It’s sizably spacious and will consume quite a bit of time to shovel, but Brian didn’t mind. Of course, he’s busy. FedEx is a globally large and popular courier service. Despite this, Brian made out time on all those occasions to stop by the woman’s home and help her with the grueling task.

As important as these are, kindness isn’t only about sending large sums to less-privileged kids in Haiti and India. Little things also pass the love around. Help an old man cross the road. Always assist the old lady living next door in ringing in her things. Regularly visit sick children in the hospital and play their favorite game with them. Volunteer at an old people’s home. Help a widowed mom shovel her porch. Help a widower watch his kids once in a while. Do something, no matter how small, to touch someone else’s heart.

You light a new start in the sky each time you perform an act of kindness.
